I am pleased to announce that John Hackmann is taking over leadership of Christian Hockey Ministries effective September 1, 2005. John has been a valued member of CHM since October 19, 1998. Since that time he has filled numerous leadership positions, including providing weekly devotions at our Christian Pickup Hockey League games for the last year. John’s experience in church, hockey, and business organizations makes him a perfect fit as CHM’s new leader. I have relied on John to provide input, guidance, and leadership many times over the years and he has always done so with terrific results.

Please join me in welcoming John to his new role and in providing him with 100% support.

When I first hoped to start a hockey ministry in the fall of 1997, I had no idea if it would become a reality, let alone be as long lasting and successful as it has been. Through these last 8 years it has been an indescribable blessing to meet so many people and make so many friends. This ministry and the joy resulting from it have far surpassed any expectations I could have possibly had. Not only has it been a lot of fun, but the personal friendships I have made are priceless. The personal support me and my family have received through some very difficult times means everything to me. It is truly impossible to put into words what it has meant to me, so I’ll simply say a heartfelt THANK YOU.

Although I am stepping down as head of CHM, I am not going anywhere. I will still be here each week participating in the CPHL, St. Louis Saints, and other CHM activities. While bearing the responsibility for CHM all these years was truly a labor of love, I very much look forward to my new role as just being "one of the guys". An honorable role indeed!

God’s Blessings,
Tom Hunter
